A New Day, A New Year

It took a lot to stay awake until midnight last night. But how can you go to bed when the new year is just around the corner.

Well, midnight finally arrived, with a second added on before the clock struck 12., something to do with the earth going round the sun, or something like that. A few fireworks later, and we were headed for bed.

Warm and comfortable, we were just dozing off, when we were woken by the late setting off of more fireworks. Although we weren't in a deep sleep at the time, it wasn't far off. If it wasn't for the fact that work required an early start today, this wouldn't have been a problem. The fireworks had started our dogs off, and they then barked for the next few minutes. The joys of New Year.

Well, we got through last night, we've struggled through today, and we look forward to this year. It can only get better, or should I say, it can only be better than the last few.
